Ciara joined JMW in May 2023 as an Associate in the London family team.
Ciara has experience across a wide range of matrimonial matters, particularly in relation to complex financial issues including:
- Jurisdiction disputes
- Third party intervenors
- Substantial property portfolios (often involving properties located overseas)
- Business assets, including those with a dynastic nature
- Maintenance pending suit applications
- Set aside applications under s.37 MCA 1973
- Freezing injunctions
- Cryptocurrency
She also has experience drafting pre-nuptial agreements and advising clients in respect of the enforceability of foreign agreements in the courts of England and Wales.
Ciara trained and qualified at a central London family law firm specialising in matrimonial finance matters involving high net worth individuals, often with international connections.
As a graduate of the European Law School’s “European Lawyer” programme, Ciara holds three qualifying law degrees. After graduating with an LLB (Hons) in English law and German law from King’s College London, she studied at the Humboldt University and successfully passed the first legal state exam in Berlin. She then studied at the Sapienza University in Rome and graduated with a Laurea Magistrale in Italian law, achieving the highest possible mark for her final dissertation. Her research in Italy focussed on prenuptial agreements within the EU.
