Emma joined JMW as a Senior Associate in our Employment team in June 2019. Emma has over eight years’ experience of advising clients on employment and recruitment law issues, including both contentious and non-contentious work.
Emma prides herself on being both down to earth and dedicated in her approach to assisting clients. Emma has a proven ability to build long-lasting relationships with clients.
Her experience covers a broad range of employment law matters, including for example:
- disciplinaries and grievances;
- drafting and introducing staff policies;
- assisting employers with defending tribunal claims;
- advice on redundancies and re-organisations;
- settlement agreements; and
- delivering training and webinars for clients.
Emma also has a particular specialism in recruitment law and has significant experience of advising businesses on regulatory issues, drafting contractual terms and more. Emma has worked with a number of the recruitment trade body associations and their members over the years.
Emma has conducted audits of recruitment businesses and she was specifically noted in the Legal 500 (2019) for her “attention to detail”.
Emma attended Leeds University and achieved a first class degree in Law. After attending BPP Law School, Emma then trained and worked at Brabners LLP.
Outside of work, Emma enjoys swimming, skiing (although admits she is still rubbish at it) and reading. Emma also plays the flute and has achieved grade 7 of the Music Board Examinations on the same.
