Gavin joined JMW on 1 January as the Head of the Restructuring and Insolvency Team. He joins from Hill Dickinson.
Gavin qualified as a solicitor in 1993. In 1996 he passed the specialist JIEB insolvency practitioner examination and has been a licensed insolvency practitioner since 1997. Gavin's practice focuses on acting for banks, asset-based and other secured lenders, as well as accountants specialising in corporate recovery and restructuring work - including advising in relation to business and asset transactions.
Gavin has particular expertise in distressed law practices, professional and financial services firms, retail administrations and advising private equity and corporate finance stakeholders.
In 2016 he acted for the Official Receiver as lead partner on the high profile liquidation of Redcar Steelworks.
Gavin is an affiliate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a Fellow of Association of Business Recovery Practitioners (R3).
Outside work Gavin is a keen cyclist and walker, and reads extensively.
