Georgie joined JMW in September 2022 as a Trainee Solicitor and qualified into JMW’s commercial team in October 2024.
During her Training Contract, Georgie acquired experience in a wide range of commercial matters, such as commercial contracts (terms and conditions, software as a service agreements, distribution agreements, supply of goods and services agreements, etc), and non-contentious data protection matters.
Georgie has also acquired experience in non-contentious intellectual property matters and regularly advises and assists brand owners (licensors) and licensees at all stages of their licensing journey, which will often include drafting and advising upon brand licence agreements. She also has experience in non-contentious franchising matters, regularly advising franchisors and franchisees in relation to franchise agreements (including multi-unit franchising whether by way of area development or master licensing).
Prior to joining JMW, Georgie worked in house at JDE Peet’s in both London and Paris as a Junior Legal Manager. During this time, she acquired experience in a range of matters including commercial contracts, non-contentious data protection matters and corporate housekeeping. Georgie is also currently seconded to a Premier League football club and works closely to service their commercial and intellectual property needs. As a result, Georgie has a good understanding of what clients want and what clients need and is pragmatic in her approach to solving clients’ problems.
Georgie graduated from King’s College London with a 1:1 law degree and Université Panthéon-Assas with a 1:1 French law degree before studying the LPC with Masters at BPP University in Manchester.
Georgie also runs a networking group, Female Lawyers Breakfast Networking Manchester, and co-hosts Encouraging Women into Franchising in the North West and North Wales.
Outside of work, Georgie enjoys running and pilates. She also speaks French and enjoys heading back to Paris when she can.
