Hajra joined JMW as a Solicitor in the Commercial Road Transport team in December 2024 having qualified as a Solicitor with the Crown Prosecution Service at the end of September 2024.
During her training contract Hajra completed secondments at the Coroner’s Office where she worked on inquests involving NHS trusts, mental health trusts and prisons. Hajra also completed a secondment at the Attorney General’s Office where she worked on unduly lenient sentences for the Solicitor General and consents to prosecute for the Attorney General. She also completed an advisory seat in the CPS’s Crown Court team, advising on serious offences. On qualification, she prosecuted a range of offences in the Magistrates’ Court.
Hajra works closely with the Partners in JMW’s Commercial Road Transport team to advise on a wide range of road transport matters, including:
- Financial standing
- Applications for Operator’s Licences
- Public Inquiry preparation
- Driver Conduct Hearings
- DVSA, Police and other enforcement agency investigations relating to the use of commercial vehicles
- Border Force civil penalties relating to clandestine entrants
Hajra graduated from Salford University in 2018 with a 2:1 in Criminology before completing her General Diploma in Law. Hajra went on to do her Master’s in Law, Business & Management alongside her LPC at the University of Law (Manchester) in 2022. She has been a mentor for the University since.
Hajra is a member of Women in Bus and Coach and, outside of work, she spends her time volunteering and playing badminton.
