Karan joined JMW’s London office in August 2024 and qualified as a solicitor in the Business Crime and Regulatory team in March 2025. Karan has a great deal of experience in representing clients involved in sensitive and high-profile criminal and regulatory matters.
Karan has experience in:
- Representing clients accused of a wide range of criminal offences including serious sexual offences, misconduct in a public office, bribery, money laundering and fraud.
- Representing in advising clients in police station interviews for complex and serious cases
- Advising police officers subject to investigations and proceedings brought by the Independent Office for Police Complaints (IOPC)
- Advising police officers involved in Post-Incident Procedures (PIPs)
- Advising clients in relation to their attendance at Inquests
- Representing police officers throughout criminal and misconduct proceedings.
- Advising clients in relation to judicial review proceedings, as well as appeals in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Karan graduated from the University of Law with a first-class degree in Law (LLB). He then went on to complete a Master of Laws (LLM) in Professional Legal Practice, as part of the Legal Practice Course.
Prior to joining JMW, Karan trained with a criminal and regulatory defence firm known for advising and representing police officers, pilots and military personnel.
Karan is a Police Station Accredited Representative and a member of the Young Fraud Lawyers Association (YFLA).
