Liz Davies is a Senior Associate Solicitor in the specialist clinical negligence department at JMW and helps people who have suffered harm due to medical failures to secure the compensation they need.
Running a case load that includes a wide range of complex and high-value cases, Liz is currently handling numerous birth and neonatal injury claims, as well as cases involving spinal injuries, such as cauda equina syndrome, and avoidable deaths.
Liz has also acted for clients who have suffered avoidable orthopaedic injuries, delays in diagnosis of cancer, surgical errors, maternal injuries and gynaecology issues.
Recent cases Liz has successfully secured compensation for include:
· £135,000 for a man who experienced a delayed diagnosis of his bowel cancer and now tragically has a terminal diagnosis.
· £95,000 for a man who had suffered a 13-year delay in the diagnosis of a scaphoid wrist fracture.
· £70,000 for the mother of a baby who died at four weeks old, after his preventable premature delivery caused complications
Liz completed her Law Degree at Leeds University and graduated in 2008. She went on to study her Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University in 2010, after taking some time out to travel.
Prior to joining JMW, Liz worked at hlw Keeble Hawson LLP in Sheffield. She started as a paralegal in 2011 before completing her training contract and qualifying in September 2014. She gained two years’ experience of clinical negligence work before she qualified and has worked in clinical negligence ever since.
In her spare time, Liz enjoys eating out, long walks with her dog, Ernie, and reading, although these activities have been mostly curtailed since the arrival of her two young daughters.
