Neil Armstrong, a partner and the head of our Construction Team, boasts over two decades of expertise in both contentious and non-contentious construction law. With a background in mechanical engineering from Leeds University, Neil transitioned from his engineering roots to qualify as a solicitor in 2004. He joined JMW in January 2024, bringing a wealth of experience from his tenure at Myerson, Shoosmiths, Addleshaw Goddard, Wren Insurance and London Underground.
Renowned in the property and construction sector, Neil is recognised by Chambers and Partners as “one to watch” and acknowledged by the Legal 500 as a notable next-generation lawyer. His advisory scope spans transactional and procurement arrangements to engineering and development projects within the construction industry.
Neil’s extensive portfolio includes diverse projects such as residential, office and retail development schemes, student accommodation, waste to energy initiatives and PFI projects. Notable highlights in his career involve pivotal roles in projects like the development of One Spinningfields, the redevelopment of the Royal William Yard and the Civic Centre in Plymouth for Urban Splash as well as contributing to Renaker’s development of tall buildings in Manchester.
