Ruth Tunningley

Ruth joined JMW in June 2024 as a solicitor in the court of protection department.

In her current role Ruth assists Rebecca Brown in preparing expert witness reports in court of protection matters in high value personal injury and clinical negligence cases. Ruth also oversees the winding up of the departments deputyships following the death of a court of protection client and ensures a smooth transition to those involved in the administration of the estate.

Following qualification as a Solicitor in 2004, Ruth spent a number of years in the arena of serious and catastrophic injury claims. This in turn ignited an interest in the issues surrounding mental capacity and the impact of the court of protection leading her to her current role.

Outside of work, Ruth enjoys spending time with her family and repeatedly playing fetch with Luna the Labrador. Ruth is also an avid fan of Aston Villa.
