Vincent joined JMW in June 2024 as an Associate in the Intellectual Property Department.
Vincent has focused on Intellectual Property since March 2015. Qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales and dual-qualified as a lawyer in China, Vincent has experience in a wide range of Intellectual Property matters, both contentious and non-contentious, including:
- Trade mark registrations and disputes
- Trade mark infringement cases
- Copyright
- Design rights
- Patent-related litigation
Vincent has been published in LexisNexis discussing an IPEC ruling in the AI and tech sectors. He also shares updates and insights into Intellectual Property through blogs on our website and LinkedIn.
Vincent graduated in July 2015 with an LL.B. and a B.A. degree in Journalism of Broadcast and Television. In December 2021, Vincent completed an LL.M. with a Distinction from the University of Glasgow in Intellectual Property & Digital Economy, further honing his practical legal skills at the University of Law in Manchester in 2023. Previously, Vincent trained and worked at a well-respected specialist IP practice in China, actively participating in public affairs and serving as a guest speaker on GDTV, discussing prominent IP topics.
Now in his tenth year in the field of intellectual property, Vincent has served several corporate clients across diverse industries, including a multinational technology and telecommunications company, a music streaming service provider with hundreds of millions of users, and an automotive manufacturer specializing in BEVs and PHEVs. He has also worked with clients in industries such as cosmetics, jewellery, fast fashion clothing, beverages, catering, advertising, and education. Vincent’s legal services have spanned various jurisdictions, such as the UK, the EU, China, and Singapore. He has represented numerous clients in Chinese courts at different levels, from local courts to High Courts and the Supreme Court, presenting complex legal arguments in high-profile IP cases to safeguard the IP rights of brand owners.
Vincent speaks both English and Mandarin. Outside of work, Vincent has a keen interest in travelling and adventure, such as sky-diving and paragliding. Vincent also enjoys photography, exploring cities, and spending time with family and friends.
