Helen joined JMW Solicitors in September 2019. She is an Associate within JMW’s Business Crime and Regulation Team.
MOTORING OFFENCES
Since joining the firm, Helen has concentrated on her passion for defending motorists and developed a track record of success within the Motoring Team. She deals with a complete range of motoring offences and has extensive experience in drug/drink driving; dangerous/careless driving; driving whilst disqualified; speeding offences, and failing to give information offences. She represents clients all over the UK across a variety of courts.
Helen’s experience and approach with clients has led her to become instructed by numerous high profile clients including professional footballers, specialist medical professionals and high-net worth corporations. She regularly acts for clients in exceptional hardship applications and keeping people on the road.
General Criminal Defence
Helen has considerable knowledge and experience in handling complex and serious cases with particular focus on cases concerning Serious Crime, Financial Crime and Fraud. She has experience in a wide range of offences including:
- Fraud and dishonesty, including Money Laundering, Fraud by False Representation and Theft
- Conspiracy to Supply Class A/Class B drugs
- Perverting the Course of Justice
- Conveying Articles into Prison
- Proceeds of Crime Act applications
- Historic sexual offences
- Malicious Communications
- Causing Death by Dangerous Driving/Careless Driving
Prior to working at JMW, Helen previously worked for a nationally recognised firm in criminal and regulatory matters. She graduated from University of Nottingham with BA (Hons) in History before gaining distinctions in GDL and LPC at the University of Law, Manchester. She is also a qualified Police Station Representative providing advice to clients if required. Helen is currently a member of Fraud Lawyers Association, Women in Criminal Law and JMW’s CSR Charity Committee.
