We have a new vacancy for a Senior Associate to join the firm’s growing Catastrophic Injury team within our Personal Injury department, in our Manchester Spinningfields office.

The Department:

The role:

In this role, you handle a caseload made up of high value multi-track and catastrophic injury claims brain injuries predominately, as well as spinal cord cases and poly trauma. You will be joining a growing and supportive team with substantial experience and long-established reputations in catastrophic injury and your role will involve nurturing and encouraging younger talent in the team as well as developing your own career path with the support of our partners. The partner leading this team is Cathy Leech Band 1 in Chambers and Hall of Fame accredited in Legal 500 directories.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of serious injury claims, subject to partner supervision and in some cases partner led. You will need to exercise good judgment, skill and absolute attention to the client’s own needs and future.
  • Involvement with our charity partners and supporting their aims and fundraising will be encouraged.
  • Ensuring excellent client care and outcomes and good organisational skills in file management.
  • Maintaining high client satisfaction and good working relationships with referrers, experts and counsel.
  • Working in a team environment and developing less-experienced team members.
  • Taking responsibility for personal development and CPD training requirements.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in law and procedure.

About you:

To succeed in this role, you will be a Qualified Solicitor with 6+ years’ PQE and a solid grounding in serious injury claims work. You should also be able to demonstrate: 

  • Experience of handling a caseload of catastrophic injury claims at grade A or B fee earner level with skill and care.
  • An ability to progress cases technically, while maintaining excellent client care standards.
  • An ability to build relationships with clients and our charitable partners.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant law and procedure.
  • Strong team working ethic.
  • An ability to work well under pressure and be proactive.
