Nathan is a Senior Associate Solicitor specialising in shareholder disputes, professional negligence, construction disputes and general complex contractual disputes. Nathan joined JMW in September 2015 as a Solicitor in the Commercial Litigation Department.

He has recently assisted JMW’s head of Commercial Litigation, Steve Morris, in a multi-million pound shareholder dispute relating to a golf club in Kent Magee & Ors v Crocker & Anor [2024] EWHC 1723 (Ch) and also acted on a multi-million pound pharmaceutical contract dispute in Innovate Pharmaceuticals Limited v. University of Portsmouth Higher Education Corporation [2023] EWHC 2394 (TCC).

Nathan has also acted for a sports governing body and the organisers of an international tournament in relation to a breach of contract and debt claim. His sports clients also include representing a high-profile sportsperson / property investor who was involved in a contractual claim.

Nathan’s commercial practice includes:

• Shareholders disputes, contractual disputes and professional negligence claims. With experience in high value multi-track litigation, Nathan is frequently instructed on general shareholder disputes and unfair prejudice claims as well as a wide range of breach of contract disputes.
• Construction and engineering disputes involving litigation and adjudication. Nathan acted on one of the first cases to follow the Court of Appeal’s decision in S&T v Grove where JMW successfully represented the Claimant and the Technology and Construction Court held that an employer could not use a decision in a second adjudication to avoid making payment of the sums awarded in the first adjudication.

Nathan graduated from Keele University with a law degree in 2009 and completed his LPC at Staffordshire University Law School in 2011. Whilst undertaking his LPC Nathan received the award for Outstanding Student in Business Law and Practice.

Outside of work Nathan can be found in his garage woodworking, he also enjoys DIY, playing table tennis and Nathan also plays tennis in local leagues.
