JMW and The Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT)
The Child Brain Injury Trust is a national charity that supports children affected by an acquired brain injury and their families. It provides a host of services to help children and their families to cope with the impact of their injury. This includes practical and emotional support, a national helpline, educational support and training and information.
As specialists in brain injury claims, the medical negligence and personal injury teams at JMW are on the Child Brain Injury Trust's panel of approved solicitors. Families that obtain information about JMW from the charity can be assured of the very best service, that they will receive the maximum amount of compensation they are entitled to and their claim will be handled sensitively and confidentially at all times.
Since becoming involved with the Child Brain Injury Trust in 2012, JMW has raised thousands of pounds of vital funds through sponsored events that our staff have taken part in. This includes a zip slide from the top of the Imperial War Museum North and the Great North Run. We also hold an annual comedy dinner in aid of the charity.
The Child Brain Injury Trust gave its backing to a JMW campaign about a type of largely avoidable acquired brain injury called kernicterus. Kernicterus can be caused if children with severe jaundice are not given proper medical treatment. Find out more about the campaign and the stories of some of the families that we are helping here.
