Coaches: Survey to Assess Capacity, Service Provision and Accessibility
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (“DVSA”) and the Department for Transport (“DfT”) have issued a survey to assess capacity, service provision and accessibility in the coach sector and are requiring all coach operators to complete this.
The purpose of the survey is to understand the services that coach operators provide, the size and carrying capacity of their fleets, and their coaches’ compliance with, or any exemptions from, the Public Service Vehicles Accessibility Regulations 2000 (PSVAR) and the Public Service Vehicles (Accessible Information) Regulations 2003 (AIR/PSVAIR).
The survey can be accessed here and the deadline for completing the survey is 4pm on Monday, 21 April 2025. Operators should print or save their responses (this option is available after the response has been submitted).
Results will be anonymised and aggregated and will only be used by DVSA/the DfT to inform – they will not be used for enforcement purposes.
If operators have any queries regarding the survey, they should contact coachsurvey@dft.gov.uk.
